	MISSION
	To effectively promote and protect Malawi's interests abroad and maintain good international relations through implementation of the Malawi Foreign Policy, in order to contribute to the country’s sustainable development and territorial integrity.

	VISION
	A high-quality diplomatic service that promotes and protects Malawi's interests and image.


	DUTIES & SERVICES
	To facilitate and coordinate economic activities relating to trade, investment and tourism. To facilitate the mobilization of aid and technical assistance. To issue other travel documents to Malawian nationals and/or facilitate visas to foreign nationals wishing to visit or reside in Malawi. To assist Malawian nationals on matters affecting their social well-being. Make regular visits to communities where nationals reside to listen to their concerns and address these needs where possible. To assist nationals who have been arrested or incarcerated and make notifications as required. To notarize/authenticate legal documents for Malawian nationals and companies doing business in Malawi. To provide humanitarian assistance during emergencies, i.e. situations involving destitution or distress of Malawi nationals abroad.
